Nelson County High School's cross country runners competed in a meet in Altavista last week.
”First day of cross county [season] we had 5 athletes for practice. Within two weeks our team grew to 12 runners,” said Nelson head coach Brooke Shober. ”The athletes [at NCHS] love this sport so much. It is because it’s not only physically challenging, but mentally challenging as well. No matter how physically inclined you are, this sport will always be mind over body. They work hard daily and we will see improvement throughout the season."
