Upward of nearly 40,000 people flowed into the Blue Ridge Amphitheater in Blairs, Va., to hear more than 180 bands rock out at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival from Thursday to Sunday. About 20,000 fans camped and remained on site for the entire sold-out event that booked up hotel rooms throughout the Dan River Region. Acts included Anthrax, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, Bush, Lamb of God, Cypress Hill, Seether, Ludacris, T-Pain, Body Count, Lil John and Rev Run (from Run-DMC). People traveling along U.S. 29 experienced backed-up traffic, and Pittsylvania County leaders urge extreme caution when travelling through the area.
