Two first grade and two kindergarten classes from Dearington Elementary School visited Lynchburg Fire Station 1 on Clay Street Wednesday to celebrate National Fire Prevention Day. They were treated to a tour of the fire station as well as pizza and a look at a ladder truck. An important aspect of the trip, according to school guidance counselor Annette Miller, was to learn not to be afraid of firefighters should a student ever need one.
