Wesley Hale Epperson, 85, of Gladys died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Lillian Elizabeth "Beth" Bray Epperson for sixty-two years.He was born January 18, 1931 in Gladys, a son of the late Fred Epperson and Cassie Ann Blankenship Epperson. He was a member of Tree of Life Ministries, a former member of Edge Baptist Church, where he was active in the Adult Men's Class, a Deacon Emeritus and a retired employee of Dan River Textile. Hale was called by many names, Wesley, Hale, Daddy, Dad, PaPa and friend.In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jonell Epperson Carwile Worsham and her husband Mike of Rustburg and Sharon Epperson Blanks and her husband Donnie of Gladys; his grandchildren and their families, Rebecca and Brandon Mitchen and their children Ariel, Noah, Marah, Elisha, Judah, and Abel; Tara and Jessie Neville and their children Austin and Cassie; Amy and Kenny Cyrus and their children Abigail, Jacob and Ken; Robbie Carwile; and Brittany and Caleb Maxey; a sister, Doris Epperson Campbell of Star City, AK.; three loving sisters in law and their spouses; a brother in law; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Tree of Life Ministries, Lynchburg by Pastor Mike Dodson and Pastor Keith Vinson with interment to follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service starting at 1:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider Centra Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24503.The family is thankful for the loving care provided by Centra Hospice, especially Lisa, Patricia, Tama, Joan and others who worked so hard caring for our beloved Hale.
