When Guatemala’s schools in closed mid-March, teacher Gerardo Ixcoy invested his savings in a secondhand tricycle that he and his brother converted into a mobile classroom. Each day the 27-year-old set out pedaling among the cornfields of Santa Cruz del Quiché to bring socially distanced lessons to his sixth-graders' homes and yards.

“Through this new, digital world that we’re living in, we are able to get and reach out to our students right at home, where they are,” said Michelle Thomas, owner of Forest Dance Academy. “I know that many are struggling in this time, and for us to be able to keep a little bit of normalcy in our students and dancers lives … the parents have expressed gratitude in that.”
