The Virginia 639 bridge over the Rockfish River in Nelson County was destroyed in August 1969 by the remnants of Hurricane Camille.

The house that belonged to Bland Harvey, in Roseland, was lifted off of it's foundation and landed on it's side by the flood waters of Hurricane Camille.

The Nelson County Historical Society will feature a program recognizing the 57th anniversary of Hurricane Camille on Aug. 15 at Oakland Museum in Arrington.
