A Tyro man was arrested Sunday and faces one count of malicious wounding in connection with a stabbing incident, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said.
At 1:56 a.m. Nelson sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home at 4933 Crabtree Falls Highway in Tyro for a report of a male subject identified as Bryan Manuel Carbajal who had been stabbed with a knife, according to a news release from Sheriff Mark Embrey.
Upon arriving at the residence, deputies located Carbajal who was bleeding from a laceration to his abdominal area, as well as another one to his back region, the release said. Carbajal was transported to UVA Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon further investigation, including the execution of multiple search warrants at this address, deputies arrested Jose Velazco Olvera, of 4933 Crabtree Falls Highway, in relation to the incident.

Olvera was transported to the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond, Embrey’s release said. No further information was released.
