PHOTOS: Amherst VFW 9877 marks 60 years
A crowd of about two dozen people joined Aug. 29 at the Amherst-Monroe Ruritan Club building on Bruner Road in Monroe to celebrate the local VFW’s 60-year anniversary. Most of the 20-plus members are Vietnam War veterans who share camaraderie of living through a tumultuous time in the nation’s history.
