A grand opening ceremony was held Thursday for new apartments by Waukeshaw Development in Madison Heights. 

The Westie, formerly a school on Phelps Road, is marketed as a pet-friendly apartment community, complete with a dog theme, dog-washing room and a dog park in the works.
