Join Lynchburg Parks & Recreation for a full day of discovery at Ivy Creek Park as part of the 2026 City Nature Challenge and ReviveLYH, the city’s initiative to restore Lynchburg’s native landscape.
A Bioblitz is a focused effort to document as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. Throughout the day, Parks & Recreation staff and partners will host rotating, two-hour, topic-specific activities highlighting different habitats and species found within the park. Participants may attend one session or stay for multiple activities.
Using the free iNaturalist app, community members will help identify and record plants, insects, birds, and other wildlife — contributing valuable data to a global biodiversity effort while deepening their understanding of Lynchburg’s natural resources.
Whether you are new to nature exploration or already enjoy spending time outdoors, this event offers a meaningful way to connect with the environment and support local conservation efforts.
